News Update: Malawi May/June/July 2010
Down the road at the Academy’s sister school…The Australian Primary School…the students there have just completed recent exams and are glad to have some playground fun.
World Cup fever grips rural Malawi as much as anywhere else in the world! And The Australian Progressive Academy at Nogwe is no exception. We’ve just kitted out our teams there.
The Academy’s netball teams are also a force to be reckoned with!
More vital infrastructure is being added. Work is now well on with the construction of the Academy’s Dining Hall that’ll shelter some 200 students. The onsite cooks have also been fully outfitted with their caps, full-length aprons and boots!
The Australian Progressive Academy has now been supplied with hundreds of bednets…one each for every student…to protect them from the threat and dangers of malaria. The onsite hostel has also been equipped.
The Australian AIDS Fund Incorporated is appealing for donations of good
Our books drive has netted almost fifteen hundred books which will be part of a major consignment that will soon be shipped to Malawi…and work on providing shelving has already begun locally at the Academy’s library.
Other items will include twelve dozen pairs of reading glasses…a marquee….another petrol powered generator..and some two dozen netballs, clothing etc.
