News Update: Malawi- Kambona School Housing.

The Australian Secondary School at Kambona in southern Malawi has been engaged in a major building program over the past 12 months in order to provide onsite housing for its single and married teachers…vital if teachers are to be encouraged to stay and critical for the survival of the curriculum.

It’s been all hands to the pump as builders, carpenters, painters, concrete mixers and local village volunteers pitched in to alter the skyline….to build a total of seven houses…a monumental effort.

In all, the target’s been to construct a total of 28 separate buildings…..7 houses, 7 separate kitchen, 7 separate bathing rooms and 7 separate toilets. It’s been a massive effort by our Malawi partner at Kambona, Searchlight Orphan Care….one which we too have helped finance.
