Leave HIV policy alone

Claims that people may have been deliberately infected with the HIV virus are of serious concern.

But the Prime Minister's move to deny HIV-positive people entry to Australia as refugees or migrants will only further fuel the stigmatisation of HIV/AIDS and set back global efforts to contain the pandemic.

His comments offer Kevin Rudd a golden opportunity to declare his support for the retention of the status quo.

We challenge him to do that.
